Cycling in and around Solvang
The majestic Santa Ynez Mountains serve as a beautiful back drop to the sleepy central California city of Solvang. As a training setting, these mountains become center stage as they lure the athlete to challenge themselves. Twisted roads climb from sea level to 4500 feet, technical descents and miles of quiet scenic roads wind past the Santa Ynez Valley wineries, making this one of the most desirable settings for any endurance athlete to visit. The area is a cyclists’ paradise something discovered by Lance Armstrong many years ago and now has become the favorite Winter/Spring training destination of choice for several Pro cycling teams.
